KIMBERLY-CLARK COLLABORATES WITH SKYMARK TO LAUNCH INNOVATIVE HUGGIES NEWBORN PACKAGING

Kimberly-Clark has debuted an innovative packaging solution for their Huggies Newborn four pack of wipes after collaborating with embossed, plain and printed films manufacturer, Skymark.

Skymark has played an important role in developing a speciality co-extruded film for this packaging, which increases opacity and eliminates visibility of the pack contents.

The tri-layer co-extruded film features a blue inner layer, which disguises the pack contents inside whilst retaining the white appearance of the outer layer. This innovative solution was key to achieving design stand-out of the four-pack on shelf, whilst maintaining the all-white aesthetic required by the Huggies Newborn brief.

Huggies Newborn Baby Wipes are Huggies softest, most gentle and natural wipe, specially designed for delicate newborn skin. They have been specially formulated with 99% pure water to be safe from day one, and are free from phenoxyethanol, parabens, perfume & alcohol.

Paul Neath, director at Skymark, commented: “Our collaboration with Kimberly-Clark for Huggies® Newborn Baby Wipes has resulted in a differentiated packaging solution that we’re really proud of. We’ve achieved exactly what we set out to do in terms of the new film technology.”

“The project has also seen us overcome challenging production changes. We’ve worked hard to solve this quickly and efficiently to ensure consistency and increased speed to market for this project and future print runs that utilise this method. The collaboration has brought us a step closer to being able to offer a seamless multi-substrate brand offer.”
