J&J capper transforms essentials

17 August 2005

Nicola Massey's business of hand-made "kitchen cupboard essentials", including drizzling oils, preserves and French dressings, has been "transformed" by a Johnsen & Jorgensen single capping machine.

Production of four lines has benefited from J&J's ASA 600 semi-automatic glass container capping machine. It has been used to further enhance stylish clear glass bottles with impressive labels with black metal, tamper-evident caps.

"Previously," explains Nicola, "we'd used pre-threaded screw caps which tended to leak. With the new caps we have a perfect seal great for our mail order business, while the tamper-evidence means the products are now acceptable to retailers everywhere."

The compact, bench-mounted ASA 600 can apply metal closures from 18-35mm in diameter, accommodating containers up to 350mm high and 160mm in diameter.
