Yorkshire Packaging Systems (YPS) has supplied a Rochman fully automatic L sealer and shrink tunnel into the newly expanded London premises of stationery supplier Jet UK.
Jet UK has several shrinkwrappers within the 200,000 ft2 factory for providing a display overwrap for multi-packed stationery items, but this is its first YPS machine.
YPS says shrinkwrapping in polyolefin shrinkfilm provides optimum pack presentation at the lowest unit cost. The equipment supplied comprises an SLAU 50x50 Rochman fully automatic L sealer and TR45/90 shrink tunnel capable of wrapping Jet's products comfortably at 1,500 packs/hr.
YPS says it won the order against stiff competition based on the improved reliability and additional features of its equipment compared with Jet's existing machines, coupled with its back-up and service, which here includes a four-visit on-site service contract alongside the standard warranty.
YPS has also installed two fully automatic side feed sleeve wrappers into the Newtown site of sauce supplier to the food industry Zest Foods, which had suffered reliability issues with its old equipment, for wrapping a variety of jars in trays in various formats.
