Investment bears fruit salad

2 May 2003

A major investment into new extrusion technology at Holfeld Plastics – enabling the Irish company to double its APET/CPET capacity – has led to the introduction of new products for the salad and delicatessen market.

The range of 20 products, which required investment of around £250 000 into new tooling, includes hinge-lidded and spork-lidded containers for products such as salads and jacket potatoes. Holfeld has also developed a special wok finish material for Marie St Hubert. The French food company wanted a plastics pack with a finish that replicated the tactile impression of a metal wok for its oriental ready meals range.
