German automation specialist Elau is to be re-positioned as the packaging competence centre of parent company Schneider Electric. This aim is to accelerate the Marktheidenfeld based operation’s “evolution into a global market leader for the automation of packaging machines”.
Elau increased its sales turnover from €40 mn in 2004 to € 63 mn last year, and claims market leadership in Germany and Italy for motion/logic control and servo drives for packaging machines.
Norbert Gauß, who has succeeded Dr Thomas Cord as CEO, will be in charge of implementing the new measures. He comments: “Leveraging the possibilities of a major global group more intensively is our chance to internationalise Elau’s OEM business more aggressively and above all faster“.
