Inks that smell success

2 June 2004

A range of scented inks which can be used in-line in either spot or full coverage in offset, flexo, gravure and screen printing applications is now available from Flint.

The Rub'nSmell inks, available following Flint's signing of a partnership with scented product specialist Scentisphere, contain fragrance oils that are microencapsulated utilising patented synthetic polymers for the microcapsules. Applied directly over printed graphics, they activate only when rubbed.

"Competition to distinguish brands continues to escalate, and scented packaging provides a significant competitive advantage," says Leonard Walle, director, new business development. "Instead of having a scent sprayed at them, consumers can interact with a brand in a very personal way."
