In the USA, Independent Can has commissioned a new 4-colour Metalstar II printing line with a Sprint 490 UV trail coater which ‘significantly increases’ capacity at its Belcamp, Maryland, plant.
To lower costs and increase capacity in can production, the company has also purchased a Naroska sheet-feed blanking press. This equipment provides quick-change capability and will allow more just-in-time delivery of components.
