Inaugural British Glass industry awards

25 February 2014

The inaugural Glass Focus Industry Awards will be held at the British Glass Manufacturers’ Confederation annual Glass Focus Conference on 16 May 2014 in London.

Themed ‘Innovation within glass and the supply chain’, this year’s British Glass conference will feature keynote speeches from Ruth Miller, senior economist at the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), and from UK government ministers.

The new Glass Focus Industry Awards will be made in categories: Innovation of the Year, People & Skills and Glass Company of the Year.

The Glass Focus Conference attracted over 150 delegates from the UK and internationally in 2013, and the organisation expects another strong turnout, with senior representatives from across the glass supply chain including glass manufacturers, processors, brand owners, retailers, designers, architects and recycling companies.

The list of confirmed speakers in the break-out sessions includes key representatives from Siemens, SAB Miller, Glass Technology Services (GTS), Bottero, Vivid Economics, James O’Callaghan of Eckersley O’Callaghan and Dr Jane Muncke, managing director at the Food Packaging Forum Foundation.

“The aim of the conference is to deliver an informative and thought-provoking day, which will cover specific developments and insights within both glass and the glass industry,” says Dave Dalton, British Glass CEO.

The registration fee for the 2014 Glass Focus Conference is £295 per person, inclusive of conference attendance, evening black tie dinner and entertainment.

Entry to the Glass Focus Industry Awards themselves is free.
