In the bag for Marley with Ilapak sealer

20 April 2004

High speeds and superior bag quality were key factors behind Marley Plumbing and Drainage's decision to instal one of Ilapak's new series, PC-controlled Vegatronic 2000 Vertical form, fill and seal packaging machines at its Lenham, Kent factory.

To improve efficiency and increase bagging speeds, the Vegatronic line, which is being used to pack mouldings from Marley's drainage product range, incorporates a fully integrated infeed conveyor.

Fed by two product bins, this transfers individual mouldings into the Vegatronic 2000, counting in the correct number of items according to the bag type selected with an infra-red sensor. Bags are then discharged by a flight conveyor through a checkweigher for final packing.

Marley says the excellent seal quality from the Vegatronic unit's redesigned sealing jaw system was key to the system's purchase.
