IK publishes second Sustainability Report

The German Association for Plastics Packaging and Films, the IK Industrievereinigung Kunststoffverpackungen e. V., published its second Sustainability Report in September 2014. The report describes the current situation of the plastics packaging industry in relation to the ten most important economic, ecological and social challenges.

In the IK Sustainability Report 2014 the association documents the development of the major sustainability issues facing the branch in the past four years. These include environmental issues such as resource efficiency and Marine Litter as well as innovation and competitiveness, consumer protection and compliance. The report describes the results as well as the ensuing trends. It also diagrams the sustainability indicators of the plastics packaging sector, which were obtained by interviewing IK members.

The report is primarily addressed to stakeholders from business, environmental and consumer associations as well as political decision-makers. The current report is published bilingual (German-English) and can be downloaded at www.kunststoffverpackungen.de/Publikationen.
