Huhtamaki double wall cups set UK premium standard

25 October 2013

A new double wall paper vending cup being launched by Huhtamaki is a first for the UK, and will help the vending sector to “emulate the coffee shop experience” for consumers.

Leading disposable packaging manufacturer Huhtamaki worked in partnership with Crane Merchandising Systems and Douwe Egberts to develop the new double wall vending cup, which the company says: “Sets a benchmark for the future of coffee vending.”

Dispensed via specially designed cup drop units, the 9oz double wall paper cups can be used in vended or bean-to-cup machines.

Featuring Huhtamaki's signature 'S' wave emboss, the double wall cup is instantly recognisable as a premium product to reflect the quality of the beverage within it.

The double wall cup structure provides additional insulation and sip lids are available for drinking on the go and for reducing spillages.

John Young, Huhtamaki UK foodservice sales & marketing director, says: “I’m particularly proud of our innovative product design team who have made a number of technical improvements to our cups to enable them to work successfully with Crane’s new cup drop unit.”
