Rigid food container manufacturer Holfeld Plastics has launched a range of thermoformed plastic trays designed with the same footprints as existing foil containers.
The top seal trays are available in mono PP (microwaveable) and APET (non-ovenable) versions for frozen, ambient or chilled MAP applications. The range can be supplied in clear and coloured versions and with multi-cavity options.
Malcolm Oldham, Holfeld sales director, says: “Where food processors have small volumes of foil containers the new plastic formats can utilise sealing equipment capacity on the same lines. This gives the packer the flexibility of multiple menu changes with a low launch cost, off-the-shelf solution rather than the risks, costs and volumes of a custom design.”
