High resolution label printer from Videojet

31 May 2005

Videojet has introduced a label printer applicator for high resolution barcodes and text for shipping labels, with a modular design for "a seamless combination" of base system, print engine and one of eight standard application modules.

The P3400 has a standard 14in/350mm unwind reel (16in/400mm optional), for fewer label changeovers and increased productivity. The thermal transfer machine also has an optical low label sensor and "one screen set-up".

The software features a multiple label configuration and the P3400 is compatible with a variety of thermal transfer and RFID print engines from companies including Zebra and SATO. Other features include flight time compensation for automatic label placement control, shaft encoder input for variable speed conveyors and a rugged construction able to handle "the most challenging environments".

Videojet has also launched the Marsh 1100 and Marsh 3100 large character inkjet printers for reliable online printing onto corrugated cases and trays. Able to print 17 and 70mm high respectively, they feature a patented non-contact automatic "self-maintaining" and self-cleaning system for repeatable print quality, avoidance of depriming caused by vibration, less wasted ink and reduced downtime.

Users can prepare and preview the next job while still running the current image and monitor performance or undertake powerful diagnostics without stopping the line.
