Heinz beans in plastic packs for the first time ever

12 October 2007

Heinz has introduced the 200g PP/EVOH/PP barrier pots, four of which are integrated into a splittable multipack, on the back of both the rise in single households in Britain (Heinz research suggests the number of such households has risen by 30% in the past 30 years) and growing consumer preference for on-the-go-eating from disposable packs which don’t need washing up. The pot’s multi-layer plastic construction enables ambient storage, while reportedly maintaining “the same high standard of product taste and freshness” consumers expect from Heinz goods in tin cans. Fully microwaveable, the Snap Pots can be heated in “only a minute”.

Each pot is closed with a lidding film branded with the Heinz logo and inkjet printed with cooking instructions, with the packs’ overall visual impact enhanced with a carton sleeve. Heinz has also launched its Heinz Hoops pasta product in the new Snap Pot alongside its Baked Beans.
