Gem Plastics has completed its purchase of the assets of Harcostar Drums, at Disley, for an undisclosed sum.
Like Harcostar, Gem is a manufacturer of extrusion blow moulded plastics containers for the chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage industries, with production plants at its Cavan, Ireland, headquarters and Peterlee, County Durham.
Gem Plastics (UK) will be renamed Gem Harcostar and will offer “the most complete range of rigid HDPE drums, jerricans and IBCs - from 5-1,000 litre – presently available from one single source in the British Isles”.
Harcostar customers will continue to deal with their usual contacts at Disley, whilst the task of amalgamating the business into the Gem Plastics (UK) operation proceeds.
