Halo training package designed for "migrant" workers

14 August 2007

Halo’s ODT systems are designed to provide effective on- or off-the-job training for machine operators, supervisors and other production staff to enable them to get the best out of equipment. Provided on CD or high speed intranet/internet, each “highly visual” ODT “solution” incorporates animation, audio and video material to help clearly demonstrate plant processes and equipment operating functions and procedures, including cleaning, maintenance, troubleshooting and health and safety issues.

The new “Conquering the Tower of Babel” DVD contains a short presentation with voiceover highlighting the issues involved in employing migrant workers and how these are addressed via the company’s multilingual version of its ODT solution. It also includes a brief demonstration of how ODT works in a live production facility.

John Craig, Halo Training’s founder and md, says: “Both the government and UK food industry have recognised a number of issues in relation to employing migrant workers. For example these employees often have little understanding of our food safety standards, or how to safely operate potentially hazardous packaging and processing equipment. Halo Training has been quick to recognise these concerns.”

The ODT systems can be used in a “traditional” group training situation as well as an individual e-learning tool.
