'Green' adhesives

19 April 2005

Caswell Adhesives claims its new Envirobond range of adhesives further extend its 'green' credentials while providing a cost-effective alternative to conventional products.

These latest water-based, biodegradable/compostable adhesives are targeted specifically at general labelling applications, blister pack production and specialist packaging operations such as the bonding of PLA films to packaging substrates.

Enviramelt and Envirobond can "provide biodegradable answers" for producers of consumer packaging, PET bottles, trays, cans and cartons.

Caswell says it has seen increasing demand for high-performance adhesives that meet environmental demands, including compliance with DIN CERTCO and EN 1342: 2000 testing, and the elimination of 'stickies' for paper recyclers – a major barrier to the further use of a huge amount of recycled packaging waste.
