GA customers offered enhanced pharma capabilities

Flexible packaging producer to the pharmaceutical industry G&A Healthcare Packaging can now offer its customers access to and the support of a new dedicated pharma and healthcare packaging facility.

G&A, based in Kent, is a UK subsidiary of Austrian packaging group Constantia, which has recently opened a new, purpose-built two-storey pharma centre at its Heyer manufacturing plant an hour south of Vienna. The centre’s facilities include a class 100.000 operational area, including a four-colour rotogravure press with a two-side fault detection system, dedicated slitting machinery and a new blister packaging line for customer and in-house trials and testing.

At the outset the facility will typically provide printed hard and soft tempered foils and laminates but is planned to add lacquering and laminating services in class 100.000 conditions by 2007.

GA managing director Steve Godwin says: “G&A’s customers now have the added reassurance of the new pharma centre and its highly advanced facilities. The (“multi-million pound”) investment is further evidence of the group’s ongoing commitment to the healthcare market and to the pharmaceutical sector in particular.”
