Fuji Alpha rapidly wraps Butts' speciality breads

29 November 2005

Nottingham-based ethnic bread manufacturer Butt Foods has launched a range of Naan and other speciality bread products in extended shelf-life packs, gas-flushed on a new high-speed Fuji Alpha MAP flowwrapper from UK distributor Paramount Packaging Systems.

Previously most of its production has been packed on a Fuji Alpha flowwrapper which, md David Williams says has "run faultlessly for seven years". "This was a key reason why we considered another Fuji machine," he explains. "However, we did look at all the machinery currently available and the Alpha was the only machine that could wrap at our required speeds."

The Butt Foods machine can run at a top speed of around 80 products/min with gas flushing and 140/min when wrapping chilled or frozen products.
