Lidl stores in Germany are selling fruit juice drinks and ice teas in cartons by SIG Combibloc with the Forest Stewardship Council label.
The FSC label on cartons will be a ‘clear visual confirmation to consumers that all the wood fibres used the packaging can be traced back to the forest of origin’ says the company.
Meanwhile, Tetra Pak has paved the way for its customers in the UK and Ireland to use the FSC label across their ranges. Milk, juice and liquid food brands will be able to carry the FSC logo across many, if not all, packs within the next 12 months. The FSC roll-out affects the more than 1.5 billion cartons sold in the UK and Irish markets.
