Free sustainability workshops

16 March 2010

Nottingham Trent University is staging a series of free workshops for companies in the East Midlands that deal in packaging or have concerns about packaging and materials. Tom Fisher, professor of art and design, and Janet Shipton, divisional design and development director at Chesapeake Branded Packaging - who are authors of Designing for Re-Use: The Life of Consumer Packaging - will delve into the complexities surrounding sustainable packaging and its effect on future business activity.

The workshops are designed to run as a series, but participants an enrol for just one of them.

The programme is: 19 March 2010 – Unwrapping Preconceptions, introductory workshop investigating the concept of sustainable packaging; 28 May - Wrapping sustainability, insight into presenting products in the context of consumer expectation and behaviour; 25 June - My other box is recyclable, a ‘swop-shop’ of ideas where the audience are invited to bring along their packaging for scrutiny.
