Ford extends Walker contract

27 May 2005

Northampton-based contract packer The Walker Group, which has packed parts for the Ford Motor Company's Customer Services Division since 1970, is celebrating the extension of an existing major contract with the car giant.

Founded almost a century ago and now 150-strong, the Group has held both the ISO 9001/2000 accreditation and Ford's Q1 quality standard accreditation since the mid-1990s. Business development manager Chris Farnsworth says this factor, coupled with "class-leading service levels, value and credibility", helped the company secure a new contract with Ford, "securing business and jobs for the foreseeable future".

The Northampton firm processes around 450,000 parts for Ford every week, with an average turnaround of 1.7 days. Any urgent parts are tracked and processed within four hours.
