A serious fire yesterday (16 September) started in Amcor Flexibles Europe & America’s (AFEA) plant in Livingston, Scotland causing significant damage to the main facility and the secondary buildings. Fire fighters were able to quickly contain the situation.
In a statement, Amcor says that workers were quickly evacuated according to emergency procedures and every one was accounted for. One of the 84 workers suffered a ‘minor’ hand burn.
An action plan to meet customers’ needs through alternative resourcing is in operation, says Amcor.
