Indian flexible packaging group Uflex is to invest US$200 mn to set up a packaging film manufacturing unit in Egypt. It will produce BOPP, polyester, metallised and other related films.
This is the third overseas venture for Uflex: a similar unit was established in Jebel Ali, Dubai, UAE, in 2004, comprising two film lines and a metallizer; and the first phase of a new facility with one polyester film line at Altamira, Mexico, is to be commissioned in the first quarter of 2009.
