Evian rolls out new-look bottle in US

10 July 2013

Danone-owned bottled water brand Evian has been relaunched in the US with a new bottle design – the first in more than a decade.

Key to the new design for Evian is a label-less look, which, along with the bottle’s high transparency and “sleeker, cleaner lines” is intended to emphasise the purity of the natural spring water within.

According to Danone, the new design represents a “major breakthrough” for the water said to have first defined the premium water segment in the US in the early 1980s.

“Our new bottle allows Evian’s honest and natural personality to make a new connection with consumers,” says Eric O’Toole, president Danone Waters of North America.

“Evian has been the icon of the category for three decades, yet its vibe and skin had become dated,” O’Toole says.

“We wanted to remake the brand so consumers would be proud to once again call it their favourite water.”

The new Evian bottle design is initially available in the 500ml size, with additional formats set to debut over the next 12 months.
