A seminar on extended producer responsibility (EPR) will take place in Brussels on 6 October 2010, jointly hosted by EUROPEN (European Organisation for Packaging and the Environment) and Pro Europe, to explore how waste and resource management and EPR together can contribute to the shift towards a green economy, from a political and business perspective.
Pro Europe, the organisation for European packaging and packaging waste recovery and recycling schemes, notably Green Dot, will hold its annual Congress on 7 and 8 October.
The EUROPEN seminar titled ‘Packaging 2020: Cradle to Cradle Management’ will explain EPR and how it works. It is 20 years since the principle was first implemented for packaging waste in Europe.
The Congress entitled ‘Green Dot 2010: Green Economy in Action’ will focus on achievements and new strategies, and current EU policy on packaging and waste management.
Further information and a registration form for the EPR seminar is available on EUROPEN's website.
