Essentra Packaging has launched Re:Close Tape, which enables brands to reap the combined benefits of resealability, consumer communication and product protection in an easy-to-apply tape.
According to Essentra Packaging, part of the Packaging & Securing Solutions division of Essentra plc, Re:Close Tape employs adhesive durable enough to withstand repeated use across a wide variety of pack formats.
Consumers can keep the product in the original pack between uses, adding to convenience, retaining branding in the home to encourage repeat purchase, and enhancing environmental credentials by minimising food waste caused by spillage or packs being left open.
Re:Close Tape also incorporates a large finger lift area that runs along its length, making it simple to lift the tape away from the pack.
In addition, Essentra’s printing technologies allow the creation of eye-catching designs for maximum visibility on shelf.
Printed instructions can be added, while Re:Close Tape’s “generous” dimensions allow brand owners to add information such as QR codes for the duration of a limited promotion, without the cost of originating a whole new pack design.
“Packs which can be reclosed continue to grow in popularity, and it’s clear that consumers view effective portion control from multi-serve packs as a way of achieving better value for money,” explains Essentra Packaging managing director specialist technologies, Martin Dallas.

Dallas adds that the company is “so confident in the product’s appeal” that it is offering potential customers a free trial, so they can see the benefits on-pack.
Essentra is offering both pan-wound and traverse-wound reel formats, meaning Re:Close Tape can be applied using banderol style tape application equipment or Essentra’s retrofitted applicators.
