Energy accolade

The DuPont Teijin Films manufacturing facility at Dumfries, Scotland, has won the Carbon Trust Award for outstanding achievement in manufacturing energy efficiency at this year’s Scottish Engineering Awards.

Gary Rhoades, European differentiated business manager, commented: “We are constantly looking to implement more efficient ways in which we use energy at Dumfries and are delighted we are able to demonstrate reductions in CO2 emissions of over 2,000 tonnes per year since 2005.”

John Stocks, manager, Carbon Trust Scotland, added: “DuPont Teijin Films has shown great innovation in its methods to improve the energy efficiency of the Dumfries Plant, and has taken our advice and guidance seriously in terms of improving the energy efficiency of the site further.”
