UK-based print manufacturer Edale has sold a nine-colour Beta modular flexopress with combination flexo/screen and hot foiling units to Laguna, a printing company based in Tver, Russia.
The sale followed quickly on from Edale’s announcement confirming its new agent in Russia as EdaleRus, signed up as the exclusive distribution of Edale products in the country.
Laguna is a well-established offset printing company that decided to move into self-adhesive flexographic printed labels, where it will use its Beta for the production of healthcare, cosmetic and liquor labels.
Of the joint installation by his company’s specialists and Edale’s engineers, EdaleRus director Andrey Semichev said: “The press has many options, such as delam/relam, Stork screen printing unit, die cutting, cold foiling and UV dryers. This is the first flexo press in this factory and we are delighted that Laguna chose the Edale Beta for their first taste in flexographic printing and I am positive they will not be disappointed.”
Laguna diriector Alla Poltavtseva said: “This is our first Edale press as we diversify into the flexographic label market. We were very impressed with the FL-350 launch at LabelExpo Europe and really helped to secure in our mind that Edale were the right choice. Our decision to purchase the Beta then became an easy one after visiting an Edale customer in the UK, who also ran high specification labels on their Edale machines.”
Designing and manufacturing all its machines in Hampshire, Edale is a manufacturer of narrow web printing and converting presses specialising in flexographic printing, digital printing, commercial security and converting solutions.
The company exhibited at the Moscow Polygraphinter printing industry exhibition in October 2011.
