Easycup's an easy squeeze

26 June 2002

Easycup, a new design in portion pack, has been jointly developed by RPC Cobelplast and Weasypack.

RPC developed a multi-layer PS sheet for the Easycup which features accordion-shaped walls to indicate to the consumer that a squeezing action is required. This, combined with a simple to open tab, allows controlled dispense of the product.

The two companies worked closely in the development of the multi-layer sheet which had to have a reduced thickness and the necessary elasticity to be moulded into its unique shape.

Easycup is said to be ideal for all types of food portion pack, including mayonnaise and ketchup as well as milk and coffee creamers. The potential for other aseptic food packaging applications is also being investigated.

In addition, the packs are suitable for non-food products such as shampoos and bath gels.
