Dutch design and Rockware flair

The new 300ml bottle design for Dutch premium lager Grolsch, manufactured by Rockware Glass, is the creative work of Sven van Westrenen, of the Flex Innovation “design lab” in Delft, Holland.

Grolsch brand director David Griffiths says the container's new sleeker shape and enhanced embossing serve as a reminder of the quality and craftsmanship that goes into brewing Grolsch. He says: “Consumers say they like the look and feel of the bottle and it reinforces the brand's quality image.”

The crown top bottle was introduced for 20-packs in June and subsequently rolled out for all pack types from August.

“Much of our focus this summer has been on the 300ml size, which is popular with our consumers and customers, and we are confident the new bottle design will help drive increased sales,” adds Griffiths.
