Demand for pharma packaging to grow

Global pharmaceutical packaging demand will annually rise by 6.3 per cent to reach US$62.3 billion in 2013, according to research by US company the Freedonia Group.

Global primary pharmaceutical containers demand will annually rise 6.1 per cent to US$38.2 billion in 2013, says the report.

China is predicted to show the strongest manufacturing growth opportunities, while the USA will lead the packaging consumption market due to its specialised packaging needs. According the the study, generic ethical drugs production will help fast-growing pharma packaging markets emerge in India and Brazil.
