Crown to build plant in Morocco

23 June 2008

A new beverage can plant is to be built by Crown on its existing food can manufacturing site in Casablanca, Morocco.

Due to become operational in late 2009, the plant will produce aluminum beverage cans with an initial capacity of 700M cans/year. It is being designed to accommodate the future installation of additional production lines as market demand grows.

This new plant will expand Crown's presence in Morocco - its subsidiary Carnaud Maroc is the market leader for fish and vegetable cans, paint cans and crown closures. Its large plant in Casablanca will be complemented by a second plant due to open this August, in Agadir.
