Crown shapes up and gets to grips with WD-40

13 November 2003

What is thought to be the first asymmetrically shaped aerosol can for consumer goods products has been developed by Crown Holdings in co-operation with WD-40, a global supplier of lubricants, cleaners and household products.

The aerosol is contoured in an easy-to-grip shape and allows for convenient product dispensing. In addition, WD-40's yellow shield is embossed onto the can. The new shaped aerosol container is available in 8oz and 11oz sizes.

The container will also help to combat counterfeiting problems in China where the company estimates that counterfeit WD-40 has an additional 25% market share.
