Corrosion inhibiting flow wrap

23 July 2009

Technology Packaging has launched a new corrosion inhibiting flow wrap said to be ideal for low cost packaging of high volume metal items needing corrosion protection.

The new TechCorro Flow Wrap is a multi-layer film construction. This is infused with specially formulated chemical compounds and providing the anti-corrosive properties within the flow-wrap.

Managing Director Jerry Harwood explains, “We can add anti-corrosion chemistry to virtually any form of packaging including stretch and bubble films, papers and boards, plastics, foams, powders and liquids however until now the high temperatures involved have minimised the benefits in flow wrapping.”

Jerry Harwood adds: “Previously if a manufacturer of metal components used flow wrapping they had to rely on oil to protect from corrosion. This has health and safety implications as well as attracting dust and dirt.”

TechCorro Flow Wrap is said to be suitable for use on all flowrappers and form-fill-seal machinery and is available in wide and narrow rolls. The demand for the product demand is expected to be high amongst automotive, aerospace and other component manufacturers.
