Convenience boom fuels tray investment

16 August 2005

D2 Europack says that increasing demand for high volumes of cost-effective, robust and reliable convenience food packaging has has led to the company investing in a new operating plant and warehouse at its Harpenden site.

D2 supplies aluminium foil, PP and ovenable trays and lids to the retail and foodservice sectors.

The company says the "significant" investment is part of an ambitious growth strategy and has boosted stockholding capacity for its smoothwall and conventional foil containers.

It has also resulted in a more tightly managed supply chain supported by "almost daily deliveries" from Europack's modern manufacturing plant in Italy.
