Packaging company Clondalkin Group has revealed a multi-million euro investment and new senior management team for its recently-launched Engineered Films business unit.

Clondalkin Group’s €15million investment programme and new appointments are part of revised business structure for its Flexible Packaging Division.

Jeroen van der Meer takes up the position of Business Unit Director of Engineered Films. He most recently worked as Sales and Marketing Director at Clondalkin Group.

Joerg Soehngen, Operations Director, will be responsible for all the manufacturing and supply chain activities. Christian Claes is now Sales and Marketing Director; and Watze Roorda retains his position of Technology and Innovation Director.

John Fitzgerald, CEO of Clondalkin Group’s Flexible Packaging Division, says: “The structural changes facilitated a massive investment in our German and Dutch plants, which will come on stream early in 2011.”

The unit has invested in two flexo presses, a blown film extruder for high barrier films, a cast film extruder for barrier films, a laminator and a bio converting line.

Engineered Films consists of Wentus and Flexoplast, part of a group that also comprises Performance Films & Foils, Laminated & Coated Products, and Trading.
