Complex technologies add gloss to Color Fever

29 September 2007

The packaging components for Color Fever Gloss, an “ultra-shiny, luxurious gloss that delivers a vibrant lipshine”, include a vial, collar and cap, produced using several technologies, including bi-injection, overmoulding, sonic welding and partial electroplating.

The injected copolyester gloss vial features a striking geometric shape despite large wall thickness variations The surface is hot stamped with the Lancôme logo before overprinting with a clear tampo print for enhanced scuff resistance.

The neck is bi-injection moulded from two different polymers and submitted to a “unique” partial electroplating process which creates both a translucent effect and a metallic finish on the same part. The cap is made from an insert, moulded in a high resistance compound, which is then plated and, finally, overmoulded with Surlyn.
