Coder increases efficiency

After installing a 4ACC carton machine, incorporating a 40/25 Compact Hot Foil Coder, from Allen Coding, NuPharm Laboratories has reportedly enjoyed a huge increase in efficiency.

Around 1,000 cartons an hour can now be labelled at NuPharm, where previously it had taken a team of people a whole day; and Allen Coding says that the machine has the capacity to run up to 7,000 cartons per hour.

The off-line machine, installed in a packaging room at the pharmaceutical development company, has a maximum print area of up to 38mm x 25mm. Cartons are passed rapidly across the tabletop surface using the very effective pusher plate system, which positions each box under the 40/25 coder where it can be printed with the necessary batch codes and dates before passing on to the outfeed system ready for collation.

Will Gould, co-owner and director of NuPharm Laboraories, comments: “We have had no problem with the machines, and have found the customer service from Allen Coding extremely positive.”
