Clarifoil is a natural choice

28 May 2010

Clarifoil’s biodegradable cellulose acetate film was chosen for the sleeves of punnets for soft fruit and tomatoes sold under the Good Natured brand.

The Scottish producer avoids pesticides. Clarifoil’s film was seen as a natural companion, better for the environment when combined with a wood fibre punnet, because it gives a fully recyclable pack, says packaging company Adare.

The window film also made the fruit visible in an attractive way.

"The Good Natured packaging is one of the first recyclable soft fruit punnets available in the UK today,” said Robert Whiteside, Chief Executive Officer at Adare. “It is a perfect alternative to the plastic lidded punnet.”

Clarifoil window film is anaerobically digestible and home compostable, made from wood pulp from managed forest plantations.
