Cheese wrapped fast as a Tornado

16 March 2010

PFM fast-tracked the supply of a flow-wrapper to help a UK customer manage a surge in demand for its Cheddar cheese.

The servo driven Tornado was a demonstration unit employed at PFM's UK headquarters in Leeds, which the company customised and delivered within two weeks of receiving the order.

The machine was equipped with a new infeed system to meet the range of block and wedge cheeses packed at Cricketer Farm and also with gas flushing and gas level monitoring for modified atmosphere packaging.

"PFM’s machines are well recognised within the cheese industry and speaking to a number of users gave us a lot of confidence, not only in the machine but also in the back-up support," said Cricketer Farm managing director Paddy O'Keeffe.
