The company says the pocket sleeve design was created as a solution to the growing requirements for statutory information to be included on products, without impacting on the design or original container size.
Chadwicks has produced six designs of the pocket sleeve for UK-based electronics products group H K Wentworth, for its Air Duster spray range, which was previously packaged in printed cans.
A tear-down strip enables the user to open the ‘pocket’ and view the information contained within.
Martin Hardman, Chadwicks sales and marketing director, says: “Demand for this type of packaging is growing as manufacturers are required to include more and more information on their products, but don’t want it to increase costs or impact upon shelf appeal.”
The pocket sleeve offers a cost effective solution for customers, Hardman says: “It can be used to hold a variety of material including additional information, health and safety data, legislative changes or instructions in multiple languages.”
According to HK Wentworth, moving to sleeves has enabled the company to reduce stock inventory and associated costs “significantly”.
“The sleeves produce a superior finish and application is quick and easy,” confirms the company’s supply chain manager Matthew Kelsall.
Based in Bury, near Manchester, Chadwicks claims to be the UK’s leading manufacturer of pre-cut lids and innovative shrink sleeves to market sectors including food, dairy and beverage.
