Carton moves into chunky soups

3 August 2010

Packaging and filling machine supplier SIG Combibloc is targeting food manufacturers in the UK with a way to fill cartons with liquid, viscous and chunky products ‘at the same high speed output as juice’.

Cindy Haast, Marketing Manager for Europe North says: “We’re getting ready to open up a new chapter in our aseptic filling technology that will set benchmarks in both speed and efficiency within the UK liquid food industry.

“In sectors such as soup, consumers are looking for more content such as meat and vegetables and our forthcoming formats, such as the CombiblocMidi, will be able to handle larger particulates.”

The new format is already in use at the Campbell Soup Company in France, adds Ms Haas.
