Wales-based packaging supplier Brecon Pharmaceuticals and its existing trading partner Anderson Packaging, a contract packer in the US, have formally aligned their businesses to become AndersonBrecon.
As part of the AmerisourceBergen Corporation, the two companies have been working together since 2006, but the new joint entity is said to offer: “A more integrated, seamless approach to the global launch of pharmaceutical products.”
AndersonBrecon will feature 12 facilities across two continents, with more than 1,500 employees providing medications for patients in more than 100 countries around the world.
“The repositioning will enable both to better respond to the evolving pharmaceutical marketplace and provide efficient and more competitive solutions to meet customers’ global needs,” the company says.
AndersonBrecon UK managing director Peter Belden comments: “These new developments mean that we can offer our customers in Europe and beyond true global reach, with enhanced capacity and global service capabilities that enable us to support every stage of the product lifecycle, from research and development through to commercialisation and long-term supply.”
As part of the repositioning effort, AndersonBrecon has become a component of AmerisourceBergen Consulting Services (ABCS), a business unit of AmerisourceBergen, which comprises market leading consulting companies including Xcenda, Lash Group, TheraCom and Premier Source.
With more than $80 billion in annual revenue, and ranked #29 on the Fortune 500 list, AmerisourceBergen is headquartered in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, and employs approximately 13,000 people.
