Bradman Lake pulls out of Germany

11 January 2008

Bradman Lake, the Anglo-American packaging technologies group, has announced that it has discontinued business at its former German subsidiary leaving management there to start an independent operation, 3S.

The move by Bradman Lake follows a strategic review by the group’s new parent, Langley Holdings. The company is to cover its European mainland business directly from the UK, but is maintaining its office in Moscow, formerly managed from the German subsidiary.

Bradman Lake acquired the German company in 2003, but the business, which employed around 50, had been dogged with technical difficulties and loss making since it was acquired, the company says.

A spokesman for 3S says: “We are launching our organisation with a new name and a new corporate identity whereas ‘3S’ is synonymic for Single Source Solutio. Our name is English as we will be serving a sustainably growing world market of Fast Moving Consumer Goods”.
