BPI in £100 price hike

25 January 2008

BPI is set to increase its selling prices on all UK products by up to £100 per tonne in response to the latest polymer price rise.

The increases announced within the last month by several raw material suppliers came at the end of a year in which the increase in the cost of polymer has been unrelenting, says a spokesman for Europe’s leading polythene producer.

In addition to ongoing raw material price rises, the group is also experiencing additional increases in other oil-related costs, including energy and transport, says BPI chief executive John Langlands.
