Boxes Prestige invests in new machinery

7 August 2008

Manufacturer of luxury printed folded cartons Boxes Prestige, has announced a €5 mn investment in new press and pre-press equipment. It includes two new seven-unit Roland 700 B1 format presses, one for the UK facility in Northampton and one for Boxes Prestige Poland, based in Lublin, where there has been a 50 per cent increase in manufacturing capability.

Both presses include dedicated coaters and UV drying capabilities, and will reduce downtime between print runs, ensure colour consistency and provide additional production flexibility. They will also be alcohol-free, reducing the company’s environmental impact.

At its UK operation, Boxes Prestige has also installed a Bobst Alpina folder gluer 2 and an XM Easybender. The folder gluer will offer faster running speeds and make-ready, and the XM machine will cut die making time by up to 75 per cent, as well as reducing waste.
