Blue Nun gets Slinky appeal from Rexam

Blue Nun has launched a white wine beverage packaged in dynamic bottles from Rexam Glass Nienburg, Germany.

The "crisp, lightly sparkling" white wine crush, to be sold in the UK and other export markets as Blue Nun Slinky, is believed to make Blue Nun the first international wine brand to offer a wine-based variant for the ready-to-drink category.

The 275ml flint glass bottles, with crown cap, feature a gently angled body shape, slightly indented above the base, giving a feminine quality fitting for the 18-30 year-old female target market.

A satin-etch finish allows the crush's pale blonde colours to show through, while pressure-sensitive labels depict striking gold and blue branding and content information.

Armin Wagner, Blue Nun marketing director, adds: "The Slinky product strongly contradicts the seeming lack of innovation in the wine category and presents an exciting new opportunity for the RTD market."
