Blippbuilder makes augmented reality easier

26 February 2014

Image-recognition platform Blippar has released Blippbuilder, new ‘self-service’’ software that will enable brand owners and agencies to set up augmented reality content on their labels and advertising more easily.

According to the US-based company, Blippbuilder will enable agencies and content producers to self-publish interactive content in the physical world on a scale not possible until now.

While previously only available to a limited number of publishers, the Blippbuilder creative tool will now enable brands and agencies to add a layer of interactive digital content to static images in just a few clicks – instantly amplifying print advertisements, physical products, and more.

Blippbuilder is said to have an intuitive drag-and-drop interface, making it easy for agencies and in-house creative teams to create unique augmented reality campaigns “in minutes”.

According to the company, there is no software to download and no technical or coding skills are required.

“The BlippBuilder launch marks a hugely significant step forward to turning the physical world around us interactive by enabling the exponential growth of ‘blippable’ content,” says Blippar CEO and co-founder Ambarish Mitra.

Launched in the UK in 2011, Blippar enables users to “unlock the physical world” with interactive digital content experiences, and engage with their favourite publications, brands and celebrities via their iOS, Android, BlackBerry, or Windows mobile devices.
