Stanelco Plc has restructured its bioplastics division to form a fully owned subsidiary called Biome Bioplastics Limited.
Having its own identity and organisation under the Biome brand will give it ‘the proposition and profile to take the business further’, says Stanelco.
Biome Bioplastics produces biodegradable plastics ‘from renewable sources’ in the UK, Europe and worldwide. Packaging users are among a diverse customer base.
The company also supplies the waste disposal, personal care, horticulture, construction and consumer electronics sectors.
‘Biome’ is a scientific term used to describe ecosystems having similar climatic conditions. The circular motion of the recycling process, of which bioplastics is a part, is represented by the Biome logo.
“Biome Bioplastics captures the essence of our activities in both the natural and business ecosystems,” said Paul Mines, chief executive of Stanelco.
A new website describes how bioplastics are manufactured, uses of the raw material and the range of product types available.
